Pre-martriculation requirements:

In case of an emergency (illness or injury you believe is life threatening), YOU SHOULD NOT COME TO UNIVERSITY HEALTH SERVICES.
If you are on campus, go to the Emergency Department.
If you are OFF campus, call 911 OR be taken to the NEAREST Emergency Department. Costs incurred through these visits must be borne by the student's health insurance or the student.
Your UT Student Health Insurance will only cover emergency room visits for medical emergencies and you must return to Student Health Services for necessary follow-up care.

UHS Service Charges and Insurance
There is no charge for UHS services. Students may make unlimited office visits to SHS as needed. There is a charge for some immunizations, lab tests, and radiology services.

Evening, Weekend or UT Holidays
During the hours when UHS is closed, students are encouraged to use one of the area urgent care facilities listed in the telephone book instead of an emergency room for non-emergency health care (e.g., sutures, x-rays, pain, or sports injuries). Changes in holiday hours will be posted for students. Be certain to call the servicing agent to check if a center is covered by your insurance.

If you are out of state, the nationwide network for your health service needs is First Health Network. Provider directories are available online at the First Health Network Web site. You may also call them at 1-800-889-0277.

If you are in Ohio, you may contact Medical Mutual at 1-888-241-2583, or visit the Medical Mutual Web site.
